It is common for students planning to pursue a degree overseas to get restless and sleepless over the process and the uncertainty of what lies ahead. Which is the ideal study location for me? Which university will give me the best education? How do I get a study permit? What happens if I don't get a scholarship? These are just a few of the questions that every study abroad student has. What makes matters worse is their impatience and a proclivity for speeding things through. They eventually make blunders that result in their applications being rejected, resulting in a waste of time and money. Let's take a look at some frequent blunders that you should avoid if you're planning to study abroad soon.

Blind love: You've chosen an overseas destination because someone in your family has told you how lovely it is. Alternatively, you may have read about the country's scenic and historical locations in one of your favorite novels. Alternatively, some of your friends may already be studying in the country, inspiring you to make it your dream country as well. Never choose a country only on the basis of one of the aforementioned factors. You must have a basic understanding of the culture, geography, and history of the country you plan to visit.

I’ve all documents ready: One of the most common reasons for a university abroad to reject your application is an incomplete document submission. It occurs! Always double-check with your friends, teachers, or anybody who has already studied abroad to ensure that you have the correct set of paperwork.

I can pay the application fee later: While submitting their applications, some students may overlook the application cost. However, they have made a blunder. Even if you submit all of your documentation to the university, there's a good possibility your application will be rejected if you don't pay the application fee up front.

I don’t need to show proof of my liquid funds: It makes no difference whether you have sufficient cash to support your education or are receiving a scholarship. You must obtain a letter from your bank certifying that you have sufficient liquid funds to cover your tuition and living expenses while studying abroad. The bank letter serves as confirmation of your genuine reasons for studying abroad, as well as proof of your commitment to your education.

I’ve enough loan: Just because you apply for an education loan doesn't imply you should solely rely on that source of funding for your education. You'll need to have extra cash on hand to cover your other expenses.

I have relatives abroad, so it makes my study easier: This is a common blunder made by pupils. They believe that because their family has lived in the nation for a long time, it should be simple for them to obtain a study visa or rely on them for migration. A study visa is your ticket to pursuing higher education in another nation, and it has nothing to do with any familial ties you may have in the country. Your ability to stay independent and sustain oneself during your stay will be given priority by a visa officer.

I’ll get a job anyway: The allure of earning an international degree is strong, and many students are drawn to explore options that aren't available in their home country. You may be enticed into making a poor decision if you do so. If you plan to work after earning your degree from an international university, you'll probably want to enroll in a course that will assist you in finding work. You must be cautious and operate efficiently in this situation.

I don’t follow rules: Because the country you select is not your home, you will surely have to conform to its social conventions. If you engage in any criminal activity or break local laws in the nation where you study, you may face severe consequences.

Allowing fear or anxiety to control your decisions will only make your trip more difficult. Also, don't bring any baggage or painful memories from your past with you. This is your chance to shine; take use of it.
