Supervisors generally expect their postgraduate students to be highly competent in their academic work and capable of handling advanced theory and concepts. You must be eager to learn new research techniques and motivated to work independently.
Your supervisor will expect you to be knowledgeable about the topic for which you have chosen to conduct research. Aside from these, you will be expected to have general study skills such as using library resources and search systems, the ability to present in seminars, and knowledge of laboratory technical equipment.
