ALL YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT STUDYING IN LITHUANIA
Lithuania is situated at the crossroads of Western and Eastern Europe. Despite its convoluted history, it has evolved a distinct culture that includes a strong drive to study and innovate, as well as a great reverence for traditions. However, the cost of living in Lithuania is cheaper than in Western countries, making it excellent for international students.
Higher education institutions in Lithuania place a strong emphasis on equipping students with the skills they need to put their knowledge into practice. As a result, students can engage in educational, professional, or scientific processes both locally and globally. The European Credit Transfer System (ECTS) is used to evaluate all of Lithuania's 350+ English-taught study programmes, with each year of study receiving 60 ECTS credits. There are three types of university degrees: bachelors, masters, and doctoral.
* The undergraduate (Bachelor's) cycle is the first.
* Graduate school (Master's and/or specialized professional studies) is the second cycle.
* The third category is postgraduate (PhD/Doctoral, residence, and postgraduate in the arts).
Universities offer bachelor's degrees and professional qualifications; colleges give professional qualifications but not degrees. The academic year runs from September to June, and it is separated into two semesters: spring and fall. Students have the option of studying full or part-time.
If you are in the second cycle (or plan to be) and wish to pursue a Master's degree or a specialized professional certification, one of the alternatives available to you is to enroll in one of the integrated study programmes. These programmes combine first and second cycle university studies. The successful graduates are given a Master's Diploma, which verifies that they have earned a Master's degree.
Lithuanians are one of Europe's most educated and bilingual peoples. You will undoubtedly leave with a large number of new acquaintances and life-long friends as a result of your study. With higher education being infamously expensive in other areas of the world, more international students in Lithuania feel that they are getting a good deal — with tuition costs starting at 1000EUR and significant scholarship programmes for top-notch education. It would be a huge mistake to overlook Lithuania!
