Why is the Netherlands becoming a popular destination for students from all over the world, particularly in the field of engineering? The Netherlands is a country in the heart of Europe with a population of over 16 million people and a huge range of culture and traditions. Despite the fact that the Netherlands and Holland are the same country, there are some differences in the origins of the names. The native language is Dutch, and Holland was the first non-English-speaking country in Europe to provide English-taught academic programmes.

Engineering courses in Dutch universities are advanced and practical, aimed at students interested in specific expertise in a variety of engineering careers. In Holland, there are approximately 23 universities and colleges that provide engineering and technology programmes. Biomedical engineering, structural engineering, electronic engineering, and mechanical engineering are among the engineering courses offered at most of these colleges.

The criteria for admission to universities in the Netherlands vary, so prospective students should contact their chosen institution for more information. However, the fundamental prerequisite for entrance to a bachelor's programme is a secondary school diploma. A foreign student's qualification must be equivalent to the requisite minimum diploma. Students seeking master's level postgraduate study must have at least a suitable bachelor's degree or its equivalent. Because a student may be required to produce proof of English in some cases, IELTS (6.5 minimum, with at least 6 in writing) or TOEFL (minimum score of 93) qualifications are often accepted. Most Engineering courses take between 4 and 5 years to complete for undergraduate applicants, depending on the course. Applicants seeking admission to obtain a master's degree must complete a course that lasts between one and two years. For full-time PhD students, obtaining a degree should take between 3 and 4 years.

Students will gain a broad range of problem-solving, technological, and creative abilities that are greatly sought-after by employers in various industries, thanks to a strong 'learn-by-doing' approach. Graduates have gone on to positions in finance, consulting, management, and business strategy, in addition to directly obtaining employment as engineers.
