One of the constant worries when you choose to study abroad is whether or not you will be able to make some friends and settle in at your new school. In many aspects it is actually easier to make friends as an international student! There are few tips to stay social while studying abroad:

* Go to orientation

Orientation may be optional - and it might be even boring - but meeting other international students before joining a group of friends is a great way to do this. Once you find some students you may want to learn more, please stay at a local café or on campus lawn. When they just come, they're unlikely to have plans, and maybe they will invite you!

* Ensure that you have mobile phone that works

Receiving a SIM card may involve paperwork in certain countries. In other countries, finding a convenience store is simply a question. In any case, this should be on the to-do list early so that the spontaneous plans don't miss out.

* Join some student clubs

There will be some active student clubs for you to join every university worth their salt. Whether it is based on hobbies or a mutual love of discounts at local student clubs, new friends will be made. It is a good idea to join student clubs that are dominantly international students to increase their opportunities to make friends in the country.

* Get a roommate or roommates

Although many people live on their own and remain socially active, it is an excellent way to remain active and meet new people if you are in a new country and a new university, whether in a dorm or in a shared apartment. Even if you do not have much in common with your fellow roommates, you may have the chance to hang out with friends and friends of your roommates and meet some of the people you really want sooner or later.

* Organize plans to explore your new country

If you make friends but are not as often out as you want, plan a day trip, visit the local cuisine, go shopping. Don't be afraid either to invite your local friends. You might be able to lead you to the local restaurants, art exhibitions or book fairs with which you have heard and want to try, to people you've been looking for, or even places to visit, although you've spent your whole life in this city.

Studying abroad helps you learn new languages, understand different cultures, overcome difficulties and gain a greater understanding of the world. So, what are you waiting for? Turn your dreams to reality of your study abroad!
