Germany Deutschland Stipendium National Scholarship Programme
The Deutschland stipendium supports outstanding students from all around the world financially and non-materially. Businesses, foundations, or private individuals sponsor young talent with a monthly pledge of 150 Euros, modeled after the public-private partnership principle. The Federal Government will match this amount with an additional 150 Euros. But there's more: through parallel mentorship programmes, networking events, and internships, many institutions and private sponsors aid Deutschland stipendium holders.
The Deutschland stipendium provides financial assistance to highly talented students at all participating German universities. The scholarship is given without regard to personal or parental income, and one's nationality has no bearing on the award. The scholarship funds are not eligible for Federal Training Assistance Act grants (BAfoG). There are no mandatory social insurance contributions.
The universities bestow the Deutschland stipendium. Applicants must meet the requirements of each institution. Aside from academic accomplishment, social commitment and personal achievements, such as overcoming challenges or obstacles in one's social or family background, are used to determine award applicants. Funding is typically provided for at least two semesters, but may be provided for a maximum period of time that includes the standard period of study.
The university reviews whether the scholarship holder still meets the award criteria and whether private funding will be available at two-semester intervals.
More and more higher education institutions and private sponsors are providing non-monetary assistance in connection with the Deutschland stipendium. Mentoring programmes, networking events, and internships enable scholarship recipients to make valuable contacts in the business world and gain experience in the workplace.
