IIM Ahmedabad releases summer placements report: 110 firms made offers to 378 students

IIM released summer internship placement report lately and it states that a total of 110 firms participated in the process. 378 students have been offered from the reputed MNCs across the globe. Consulting (23.81%), finance (20.9%) and marketing/sales (18.78%) were the major job functions for the 2013-15 batch as per the Indian Placement Reporting Standards.
According to the report, the consulting sector made as many as 81 offers; conglomerates made 46; BFSI 71 and FMCG 50 offers. 338 students got internships based in India, while 21 were made offers abroad. This includes 2 in the Americas, 2 in Europe, 9 in South-east Asia and 8 in West Asia.
Bank of America, Merrill Lynch, Barclays, Citibank, Nomura and RBS are few among the global banks that recruited students. The consulting space had recruiters such as AT Kearney, Accenture, Bain & Co, Booz & Co, McKinsey & Co and BCG while among conglomerates, the Aditya Birla Group, GE, CK Birla and TAS recruited students for their management leadership programs.
Airtel, Asian Paints, HUL, ITC, Johnson & Johnson, Mars and Mondolez were among those from the consumer goods and services sector. Pharma saw the likes of Abbott, Cipla and Dr Reddy's offering internships. Amazon, Flipkart, Google, Infibeam, Microsoft and Intel came from the technology, internet and e-commerce space.
Some students also chose to pursue internships in social and regulatory roles with recruiters such as SEBI and Anandwan. A few students also interned in start-ups.
