news

Graduates of architecture, landscape architecture, environmental science, and other related fields (e.g. fine art, city planning, forestry, agriculture, and biology) who aspire to train as professional Landscape Architects can apply for the Master of Landscape Architecture, which is unique in Cyprus. It is concerned with the study and design of natural and manufactured landscapes, and it aims to address a knowledge deficit in this field, as there is a growing pressure in today's society to develop usable and exciting physical landscape places that have a strong inter-relationship between local, regional, and global environmental interventions.

The European Council of Landscape Architecture Schools has approved the Master of Landscape Architecture (MLA) (ECLAS). This recognition by the ECLAS, as well as involvement in the ECLAS, provides MLA academics and students with a number of opportunities. It enables students to attend ECLAS conferences, student architectural contests, workshops, and forums, as well as connect, collaborate, and share experiences with other European schools. The Master of Landscape Architecture has the following specific goals:

* Gain an understanding of the history of people's connection with the land, as well as the basic philosophies of planning and design intervention.

* Provide knowledge of the information, processes, and techniques used in the landscape planning and design professions

* Creatively address a broad range of genuine contemporary planning and design problems

* Provide knowledge of the information, processes, and techniques used in the landscape planning and design professions

* Create environmentally and socially aware professionals who will have the knowledge to create environmentally sound landscape design

* Promote sustainable development through landscape design

* Develop a sense of community through project-based design since landscape design studio projects are based on community.

* Enable students to pursue professions in landscape architecture, research, or further education.

The Master of Landscape Architecture program's goal is to provide landscape architecture education, research, and training with a focus on Mediterranean conditions in both urban and rural settings, as well as a strong emphasis on sustainability and ecology. The importance of design innovation and quality is emphasized. It also leads to formal certifications for those interested in practicing Landscape Architecture.
