You enter a whole new world of learning experiences, instructional styles, and evaluation strategies once you become a student. Academic credits, also known as university credits, are another significant aspect of international education that you can learn more about because it can help you better understand how your success is assessed during your studies and how you can transfer credits to study at a university abroad.

A norm used by universities to quantify and evaluate students' work and commitment during their Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD programme is known as an academic credit system. Understanding how credits work and how credit points from one academic system are converted into credits from another is important (if possible). In order to meet the starting credit criteria for university entry, students can need to take preparation courses. For foreign students, the most important academic credits are:

* ECTS - European credits

* Quarter credits and semester credit hours (SCH)

You can receive a number of credits for each course you take during your degree programme. How do you do it? Your professor will grade you based on the amount of knowledge and skills you will have acquired by the end of the course. A combination of evaluation methods which is common are:

* actual attendance

* tests taken during the course

* projects/research work

* oral/written examination

Generally, each course is assigned a certain amount of credit points based on a variety of factors such as the student's workload, learning outcomes, and contact hours. The more time and commitment a student is expected to put into a course, the more credits it is worth. The suggested workload is based on a typical student's workload.
