The Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS) is a document given by the university where you have been accepted for a program and must be submitted with your new Tier 4 student visa application. The letter includes a specific number that indicates that the university named in it has authorized to sponsor the applicant's Tier 4 visa as an educational sponsor. The CAS letter is detailed in nature, and it gives UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) with detailed information about your candidature, program, and university. Besides the 14-digit CAS number, the letter contains the following information:

• Number of the sponsoring university's license

• Your course's name

• Your course's start and finish dates

• The cost of tuition 

• The amount you've already paid toward your tuition.

• The total amount you have spent for your lodging (if any)

• IELTS or TOEFL scores

CAS Letter Validity

The CAS letter has a certain amount of validity. You may miss your opportunity to study abroad for a given session if you're not using it in a reasonable timeframe. The letter is valid for six months, however it can only be used three months prior to the start of the course.
