The Maltese islands have a fascinating cultural blend of ancient and modern influences. Despite being one of the oldest institutions in the Mediterranean, the country's higher education system is forward-thinking and combines tradition and innovation.

Because of Malta's small size, there is only one university and one professional college, which is made up of a number of separate institutions. They both have a solid international reputation, though. Every year, over 600 full-time foreign students and approximately 500 exchange and transfer students arrive in Malta from approximately 80 different countries. The country maintains international relationships and links with educational institutes.

Why should you study in Malta?

1. It is completely free for EU/EEA students.

If you're from European Union (EU) or the European Economic Area (EEA) and take courses at Malta's only public university, you won't have to spend any tuition fees. There are, however, some exceptions in Business, Culinary Arts, and others.

2. Officially, English is the country's language.

If you're concerned about language obstacles or don't think you'd be comfortable learning a new language, breathe a sigh of relief! You're not required to! English is the official language of Malta, and practically everyone speaks it.

So, whether you need instructions, need to discover a missing item on your grocery list, or need to get around, you'll always be able to ask for assistance and interact efficiently.

3. Malta offers a variety of educational opportunities.

Degrees are awarded in a variety of fields, including the arts, science and technology, health sciences, engineering, law, and so on. Students choose among full-time and part-time study options.

The programs given are relevant and important to the country's needs. The courses are available at three levels: diploma, undergraduate, and postgraduate. Most bachelor's degree programs last three years, whereas most master's degree programs last two years. Some courses are only held once every two years in order to maximize course efficiency.

4. Malta is a sports and outdoor enthusiast's dream come true.

For those who prefer being active, traveling, and pushing themselves, Malta has a plethora of activities to choose from. In your leisure time, attempt any of the adrenaline-pumping activities listed below: hiking, water sports, rock climbing, scuba diving, fly boarding, and so on. None of these strike your interest? Then simply unwind on the beach, soaking up the sun's warmth and the sea breeze.
