Representatives of the Center for Energy and Environmental Studies (CEET) VSB-TUO started today by building a unique new generation CEETe center, whose task is to help industrial entities with the transition to energy using low-carbon resources in accordance with the European Green Agreement.

The building, composed of individual modules, will provide the background for technologies and methods that can bring waste back into play as alternative fuels, obtain useful forms of energy and chemical products from them. The investment of 350 million crowns is to be completed in the autumn of 2023.

"This is a unique solution not only in the country but also in Europe. Most foreign science centers address only some of the problems associated with the transition from fossil fuel to clean energy. On the contrary, we can build on interdisciplinary research and interconnection of all parts of CEET and other university workplaces. Thanks to this, we have technologies that can ensure the conversion of waste into useful forms of energy, store this energy for a short time and then use it, " summed up the mission of the new CEET component, its director Stanislav Misak.

The scientist was inspired by the Wall-e robot, but CEETe will not be science fiction

CEETe - Center for Energy and Environmental Technologies explorer is to be a mobile explorer and come up with pioneering solutions. The main purpose of the project is to install unique combinations of technologies for thermochemical conversion of alternative fuels and methods for energy storage and distribution to ensure energy self-sufficiency, including hydrogen economy. A basic full variant with all conditions for research, from basic to applied, will be built on the VŠB-TUO campus. Since the system is assembled similarly to Lego kits from individual modules of the same size, it will be possible to build its components relatively easily "tailor-made" in other locations, with a range of services to solve specific problems.
