BSU International students met with representatives of the United Nations and the International Organization for Migration.
The event was held online with the participation of the Heads of the Country Office of the World Health Organization in Belarus Masoud Dara, the Office of the United Nations Population Fund in Belarus Olga Atroshchenko, the World Bank Resident Representative in the Republic of Belarus Alex Kremer, Deputy Representative of UNICEF Gabriella Akimova, UN Adviser for Data Analysis Natalia Karkanitsa, Counselor of the Office of the UN High Commissioner in Belarus Timofei Solodkov.
The head of the representative office of the International Organization for Migration in the Republic of Belarus (IOM) Makhym Orazmukhammedov and Dean of the Faculty of International Relations of the Belarusian State University Viktor Shadursky addressed the participants with a welcoming speech.
A discussion took place on migration as a phenomenon and its relationship with various spheres of social development, the impact of the pandemic on modern migration processes, as well as the activities of international organizations.
The event was initiated to increase the level of knowledge of students in the topic of international migration processes and is timed to coincide with the International Day of Migrants.
