Erasmus+ 2021-2027 Should Offer Free Interrail Tickets to Meet Sustainability Goals, NGO Recommends
A European student-led initiative, Erasmus by Train has advised Erasmus+ to include free-of-charge interrail tickets for students committed to green travelling in order to meet the program’s sustainability goals.
Green travelling, a less damaging transportation form using busses, trains, and car-pooling, would be efficient with free interrail tickets, allowing participants to travel around Europe by train while causing minimal environmental damages, SchengenVisaInfo.com reports.
Besides raising sustainability awareness, Erasmus+ plans to use €26.2 billion for improving social inclusivity, digitalization, and program exchanges.
In a press release issued by Erasmus by Train, Erasmus+ strategies on sustainability “remain vague in their formulation.” Therefore, the group suggests for Erasmus+ to recognize sustainability as an issue and make it a priority throughout the six-year-long program.Erasmus+ 2021-2027 Should Offer Free Interrail Tickets to Meet Sustainability Goals, NGO Recommends
