Explaining the ‘EU Exit: ID Document Check’ app for EU Citizens Living in UK Post-Brexit

The government of the United Kingdom has provided detailed information regarding the ‘EU Exit: ID Document Check’ app used by citizens of the European Union and their families when applying for the EU Settlement Scheme.
The app can be used to complete the identity stage of EU citizens’ applications under the EU Settlement scheme, while it will check that applicants’ identity document is genuine and that it belongs to the applicant, SchengenVisaInfo.com reports.
Applicants are urged to use either their biometric passport from an EU country, Liechtenstein, Iceland, Norway, or Switzerland, or their UK residence card with a biometric chip if they are non-EU family members of the EU, EEA, or Swiss citizens
