Ghent University offers free online course on radicalization

As a partner in an anti-radicalization project, Ghent University participated in a free online course on the role of fallacies in the radicalization process
The course discusses the most important theoretical principles surrounding radicalisation: Which phases does someone go through in a radicalization process? What are the risk factors? What role do the internet and social media play?
These questions are linked to insights from cognitive psychology: what are the mental processes that are set in motion when young people are confronted with extremist online propaganda? How does propaganda respond to typical fallacies inherent in human information processing? And above all: how can we help young people to develop mental resilience and a critical mind?
