Lithuania Obliges Arrivals From UK, Liechtenstein & Switzerland to Either Present COVID-19 Test Results or Self-Isolate
All travellers reaching Lithuania from Lichtenstein, Switzerland and the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland will have to either present negative COVID-19 test results or self-quarantine upon arrival.
The three countries are the only countries in the EU/EEA, arrivals from which are subject to restrictions in Lithuania, in addition to travellers from third countries, as the rest of the EU/EEA countries have been removed from the list since Lithuania also became a high-risk country.
Those travelling by air, transiting through the affected countries without leaving the airport transit area will not fall subject to the restrictions, as they are not considered to have had contact.
The restrictions imposed on arrivals from the UK are a result of the new COVID-19 variation detected in England, which is asserted to be 70 per cent more transmissible.
On the other hand, the Ministry of Health has announced that Slovenia has been removed from the list of affected countries and regions after a drop marked in COVID-19 cases in this country.
