Requirements to Get a Student Residence Permit in Slovenia
It is not an easy choice to make to decide to study abroad, but I am sure it's worth making. It will forever alter your life. There are some formalities you need to go through to ensure your legal stay in the country of your studies, such as getting a visa or a residence permit, once you decide to apply for an international degree and you are accepted at your desired university.
If you reach Slovenia, you must register within 90 days at the Administrative Unit of Ljubljana, Department of Foreign Citizens, and bring the following with you:
- Two passport-size portraits
- You will be asked to leave your fingerprints.
- A valid passport and a first page copy. The passport must be valid for an additional 3 months following the stay in Slovenia envisaged.
- Copy of a passport page where you have an entry stamp in Slovenia or a copy of a valid visa
- Certificate of University Enrolment
- Valid health insurance
- Your home country's criminal record that shows that you have not been convicted of a crime, translated into Slovene, and approved
- Application fee
- A document stating that you have the financial means to cover your living expenses
Once your temporary residence permit is ready, you will receive an email notification with instructions detailing when you can collect it. You can also arrange your temporary address at the time of collection, if you plan to live in private accommodation.
