Screening of films for students before the beginning of the 2nd edition of the Split Videoart Festival

On the eve of the second edition of the Split Videoart Festival, which will take place next week in our city, on Wednesday, May 12, in the multifunctional hall of the north tower of the University Library, a screening of films for students took place. This event was created in cooperation with the University of Split, the University Gallery and the Erasmus Student Network Split Association with the aim of popularizing video art among the student population.

The introductory speech was given by prof. dr. sc. Vlado Zrni? from the Academy of Arts in Split, who gave a minor historical account of the origin of experimental film, explaining the difference between experimental and narrative film. After the screening, students asked questions and expressed their impressions about the works. The program of the event was moderated by student Ivana Kasalo.

The second edition of the Split Videoart Festival will take place from 20 to 23 May 2021. The organizer of the Festival is the Association of Metonymy with the technical support of HULU - Split. The goal of the Split Videoart Festival is to popularize video art, which the organizers believe is underrepresented in the Croatian public space.

This year, the international program includes 31 works, including Croatian authors. The permanent exhibition of video works and video installations will be exhibited in Prokultura - Observatory of Cultural Policies - Peristil, while the rest of the program will be shown in Karaman Cinema, Kula Gallery (facade) and Kvart Association.
