Sweden: Students’ Interest to Attend Higher Education Is Increasing Post-Pandemic
The number of freshmen enrolled in Swedish universities in the last academic year rose by nearly two per cent, reaching a total of 93,700 students, the Swedish Higher Education Authority (UKÄ) has revealed.
According to the authority, that’s 1,600 more students than in the previous year, which shows that students are attending higher education considerably more after the pandemic. On the other hand, the number of Swedish freshmen has decreased significantly this year – by 7.7 per cent, which accounts for 5,400 students and a total of 69,900 Swedish freshmen in this academic year, SchengenVisaInfo.com reports.
However, 7,000 more incoming students were recorded, which covers the decrease noticed in the number of local freshmen. In general, the number of freshmen in the university has increased.
