The University of Tartu will once again offer microcredit programs in the autumn
From May 23, adult learners can register for microcredit programs starting in the autumn semester in order to acquire an additional specialty or competence in a narrower field at the University of Tartu.
2022/23. During the autumn semester of the academic year , the University of Tartu offers 38 microcredit programs in the fields of biology and sustainable development, business and economics, education and pedagogy, information technology, management, language and culture, medicine, psychology, law and society , 24 of which are new.
The microcredit program is a longer in-service training program with comprehensive content that takes into account the needs of the labor market. It is based on undergraduate subjects, participants usually study with students and the study takes the form of a session or online study suitable for the working person.
Aune Valk, Vice-Rector for Studies at the University of Tartu, confirmed that microcredit programs are a new form of study with great potential offered by universities around the world - the changing labor market and new ways of working require constant skills development and microcredit programs enable faster and more flexible learning. The introduction of a microcrat is also listed as an objective in the Estonian Education Development Plan 2021–2035.
