VMU is the official partner of Kaunas 2022

With Kaunas becoming the European Capital of Culture in 2022, the role of universities in the development of cultural and scientific programs is extremely important. Since 1922, Vytautas Magnus University has been based on the idea that a united, strong, open and critical university community is a sign of the city's cultural maturity. Its activity reveals the existing independent creative, intellectual potential and, most importantly, shows that there is a vibrant, critical, secular community and audience of artistic and cultural people in the city.

VMU, as a community with deep traditions and a sense of responsibility for the future, seeks to contribute to the reflection on important issues of the present and their actualization in the public space. For this reason, Vytautas Magnus University has become the official partner of Kaunas European Capital of Culture 2022 and will jointly implement projects of various scales.
