Waste2H2 - Waste to Hydrogen
The Polytechnic of Portalegre, through its VALORIZA research center, adds another project to the 30 or so currently underway.
The “Waste2H2 - Waste to Hydrogen” project, submitted in November 2019 to the Twinning contest, as part of the Widening program of Horizonte 2020, was one of 13 Portuguese projects recently approved by the European Commission, receiving a financing of around 900 thousand euros.
Led by a team of researchers from the Polytechnic of Portalegre, it includes partners from three different countries: Kungliga Tekniska Högskolan - KTH - Royal Institute of Technology, Sweden; ENEA - Italian National Agency for New Technologies, Energy and Sustainable Economic Development, from Italy, and KIT - Karlsruhe Institute of Technology, from Germany.
The “Waste2H2” project aims to carry out research and technological development activities in the area of converting waste to hydrogen by thermal gasification technologies, promoting a set of knowledge transfer activities, creating opportunities for networking and collaboration between institutions and companies in the countries involved.
