What must you do when your institution loses its visa sponsor license?
To counter the misuse of the immigration program, the new immigration laws have been made tighter. Institutions will ensure that they abide by the guidelines set if they plan to maintain their right to support students abroad. The latest news, though, reveals that the lack of that right could happen to universities and colleges alike. Unless the UKBA suspends the Tier 4 sponsor license from your educational company because you're living overseas, your permission to stay is limited to 60 days. Don't worry; you can always apply in this period for approval to remain with another Tier 4 sponsor!
UKBA will write to you to remind you that the UKBA’s letter has shortened your leave to 60 days from the date on. It's necessary to have your current address in the UK at UKBA. For this situation you need to alert UKBA of any change of address. You will have 60 days to study at a different university before either leaving the country or making a new Tier 4 submission. A Tier 4 submission by the organization whose license has been revoked using a Certificate of Approval for Studies-CAS would be denied, even though the CAS was given before the license was revoked.
If you have applied for a visa with the university's admission letter penalized, your application will be rejected because the CAS will no longer be legitimate. Nevertheless, the UKBA will delay the applicant's rejection by 60 days so you can get a CAS from a different agency to can apply to change an current submission, or make a new one. The UKBA will write to you with more detail, including the date you are expected to supply them with a new CAS to vary the order.
Both Tier 4 applications using the CAS on the entity would in certain cases be rejected. This requires applications filed due to revocation of the license. If you have already paid a fee to the organization that has revoked its permission to sponsor, you may need to email them individually to obtain any refund that you may have. The courses or qualifications you have previously completed at university will be passed to another institution, throwing off a percentage of the length of the degree; but that also depends on the institution and degree you are going to.
