Student Visas, as the name implies, are visas given to applicants whose primary aim of country visits is educational pursuits. Needless to mention, while it is incredibly necessary to get admitted to university, these legal papers stand in the way of all your pursuits. Each country shall be governed by its own Immigration Laws. This may range from paperwork specifications to the different evidence of funds appropriate to what all the visas will allow you to do aside from studying in the country. There are also several broad commonalities which are evident in all applications for student visas.

Studying abroad requires meticulous planning to say the least. Students are also encouraged to schedule their admission / application process with the university deadlines in mind and to work backwards. Students are expected to appear as per the university guidelines for English admission examinations, and they must have necessary paperwork in order to process their application smoothly. Students are also often recommended to submit 3-4 months in advance so as to prevent any last-minute panic. Candidates requesting financial support, grants and student loans should add a few more months to the process as these approvals take longer to complete.

You can't apply for a student visa until you're accepted in that country on to a course. Now, if you haven't already done that you need to apply for the course that you want to take. Not only that, but you have to make sure that the course fits the visa criteria for the region. Your approval of a student visa is determined by a variety of factors:

Various countries have different visa programs and policies for accepting them. They are basically quite close though. You don't need a visa to work in Europe if your citizenship country is an EU member. If you are outside the EU you can review the visa criteria for your chosen destination for more precise details. Wherever you want to study it is safest to apply for a visa as soon as possible.
